recipe: healthy shamrock shake

I love my Vitamix blender (recently purchased from Costco). I’ve been experimenting with different flavors and have been really loving adding flavor extracts to enhance the taste with no added calories. I loved my latest creation (which tasted a lot like a shamrock shake without any of the guilt). The green color comes from the spinach (which helps make it even healthier).


Healthy Shamrock Shake

Serves 1


  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 3/4 cup non-fat greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop protein powder (I like Advocare Muscle Gain)
  • 1 banana (optional)
  • Splash of almond/regular milk
  • 5-6 ice cubes
  • A few drops of vanilla extract
  • A few drops of peppermint extract

Put the above ingredients into the blender in the order listed (start with the spinach). Blend until combined and enjoy 🙂
