Do you ever read something and immediately imagine that you are pretend best friends with the author? That’s exactly how I felt when reading this post on Huffington Post called Cookie Monster Is Real — And 10 Other Weight Loss Truths | Akela Stanfield.
She just gets it. The funny and weird and harsh truths that come with losing weight. And the internal debate that we all have with ourselves when faced with temptation. The real truth of this post is that losing weight is hard work. It requires constant effort and careful thought. And deliberate action.
To be honest, I wasn’t the most mindful during the holidays. I let the temptation of office cookies and lots of wine overpower my desire to live a healthy lifestyle. And that’s okay for right now. I think that what has been troubling me more is the lack of progress that I’ve made over the last six months. And I know exactly why I haven’t made progress– because I haven’t been deliberate. And that is my goal for 2014. To do everything deliberately. To feel in control of my decisions regardless of whether I am eating Kale or cupcakes.
